Overview:

The Design Manager at Wine Racks America will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of designers in the creation of innovative wine cellar and racking system designs. This role requires a strong background in Revit and architectural drafting, with a focus on developing new design blocks for product development initiatives. The Design Manager will oversee the entire design process, ensuring collaboration between internal teams and external design agencies while maintaining high-quality standards and timely project delivery. This position also involves close collaboration with Product Development and Manufacturing teams to translate creative concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and drive business growth. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, and oversee relationships with external design agencies to deliver projects on time and within scope. 
• Act as the primary point of contact between internal designers and external agencies, ensuring smooth and consistent communication for cohesive project execution. 
• Spearhead the creation of new design blocks and prototypes in collaboration with Product Development and Manufacturing teams. Drive innovation in wine cellar design and racking systems to support new product initiatives and market growth. 
• Direct the design process from initial concept to final production, including creating floor plans and 3D models using Revit for accurate project visualization. 
• Partner with Manufacturing to develop and refine production files, maintaining alignment with technical specifications and production standards. 
• Work with the sales team to deliver custom design solutions that meet clients' unique needs, ensuring high-quality, professional outcomes that reflect brand excellence. 
• Continuously identify and implement process improvements that enhance customer satisfaction, streamline workflows, and elevate project outcomes. 
• Design and develop custom wine cellars, including floor plans and 3D designs using Revit, to create detailed elevation views. 
• Utilize automated information systems to effectively share information and streamline processes between sales and design teams. 
• Balance company policy with customer satisfaction to make well-informed decisions that benefit both the customer and the company. 
• Continuously identify and implement process improvements that enhance customer satisfaction, streamline workflows, and elevate project outcomes. 

 Required Experience and Skills: 

• Advanced architectural drafting experience, with specialized proficiency in Revit. 
• Comprehensive architectural drafting skills, specifically in space planning and custom design blocks with a solid understanding of space planning principles. 
• Strong experience in developing design blocks for new products and a keen understanding of the design-to-manufacturing process. 
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel, and spreadsheet development. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills. 
• Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction, with a friendly and patient approach. 
• Proven experience leading a design team, with exceptional communication skills for managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
