When it comes to a remodel project, Ohio based J.S Brown Company does them best. A long-term client of theirs approached their team with an idea to remodel a space in their home to become a beautifully organized storage room for their beloved wine collection. The J.S Brown was eager to take on this Columbus custom built wine cellar project and quickly got to work.
After surveying their client’s space to understand the dimensions and environment they had to work with, the team ran into an obstacle. The wine room space was above grade on the first floor of a ranch style home, making the insulation process tricky to get just right. The temperature and humidity control systems were in the adjacent garage space but the duct runs that lead into the wine room ran over the ceiling in the home’s hot attic. The J.S Brown production team understood the importance of not wanting condensation in any capacity in the wine room for proper wine storage, so the production team had to build a fully insulated duct run for the Wine Guardian D050 - ½ Ton Cooling System to keep the environment in pristine condition for long-term storage.
Once the team resolved the insulation obstacle and successfully had the space’s temperature and humidity levels at the perfect spot for storing wine, it was time to build the InstaCellar™ storage system our cellar design experts helped create and adapt off the initial concept the J.S. team drafted up. The final custom wine cellar Columbus design featured all Redwood InstaCellar wine racks finished in a WineSafe™ Walnut stain color.
The room adjacent to the client’s dining room, spotlights a wide variety of racking styles; Display Row racks to highlight beloved vintage labels, standard racking for traditional horizontal bottle storage, Diamond Bins for bulk storage of all bottle sizes, an arch for a decorative feature, extender racking to increase the storage capacity. The modular storage system is polished off with base and crown molding to give the space a more grand, elegant feel. The J.S Brown team added LED lighting to highlight the featured bottles on the Display Racks, a stunning chandelier to make the room shine, a rolling wooden ladder for easy access to the bottles stored up high and beautiful marble countertops atop the double deep storage featured on the bottom half of the storage system. The custom wine cellar Columbus room is completed with a grand glass entrance to allow all to view the gorgeous wine room from any angle.
The Wine Racks America and J.S Brown Company teams were able to work together to create a gorgeous room that holds over 1,400 wine bottles.
