Wood Wine Cellar Doors
Wine Cellar Doors
Wine cellar doors are a key factor to consider when it comes to protecting and maintaining the correct temperature and humidity for your wine collection. Our doors are each hand crafted with skilled artistry and craftsmanship to fully protect your wine collection and can be customized to your exact specifications to fit your wine closet. The unique design, attention to detail and use of the finest materials make our wine room doors a luxurious addition to any wine enthusiast’s cellar.
Standard Finishes W/Glaze
Stains are used to enhance the natural color and grain of the wood, while glazes add depth and texture to the finish. The right combination of stain and glaze can create a rich, luxurious look that complements the interior design of your wine cellar.
Rust-Resistant Harware
Door hardware that is resistant to rust is specifically designed to endure exposure to moisture and other environmental elements commonly found in wine cellars, which can lead to rust and corrosion.
Joinery
We construct our doors using a technique called mortise and tenon joinery. This traditional method has been used by woodworkers for thousands of years and involves inserting a tenon into a mortise hole to create a secure joint. Although it requires more labor, it has stood
the test of time.
Standard Finishes W/Glaze
For our Classic doors, we use a method called cope and stick construction. This involves using four frame pieces and a center glass or wood panel that are attached at 90° angles to create a sturdy joint and hold the center panel in place. This technique results in a beautiful decorative profile on the edge of the panel, adding to its visual appeal and durability.
Stile and Rail Parts
Scotia
Our Classic doors use traditional styling with coped edges on the stile and rail pieces.
Square
Our Classic doors use transitional styling with simple, square, routed edges on the stile and rail piece.
Profile Glazing
Scotia
Once the glass panel is inserted into the frame and silicone caulking is applied, the glazing strips are attached to the frame to hold the panel securely in place. The scotia profile glazing strip has intricately designed edges that add a beautiful finish around the panel.
Square
This kind of glazing strip has a flat or square edge that is used to keep the glass or wood panel in position. The strip is attached with brad nails and caulking is applied around the edge of the glass to secure it.
1 3/4″ Solid Wood Frames
All our doors are crafted with solid 1 ¾” wood frames. We take pride in our commitment to quality by having our skilled craftsmen carefully select, mill, and construct your wine cellar door from a single piece of wood. This sets us apart from many competitors who use composite or LVL (Laminate Veneer Lumber), which is made by pressing together soft wood planks with harmful glue. Unlike hardwood, this material is not as durable and can warp or shrink, affecting the door’s performance. Instead of using harmful glues, we utilize mortise and tenon and cope and stick door joinery for strength and long-lasting performance.
